The real differentiator: where the video lives
Every other spec on this page is downstream of one decision. The Nanit sends its stream across your home Wi-Fi so the Nanit app — logged into your account — can show it to you from anywhere, correlate it into sleep charts, and ping your phone when the nursery gets loud. That pipeline is the product, and it's genuinely useful. It also means a router outage takes remote viewing with it, an account exists, and video transits the vendor's cloud under Nanit's privacy policy — worth actually reading if nursery footage leaving the house bothers you.
The SpaceView Pro simply doesn't have that pipeline. Camera and parent unit talk to each other over a frequency-hopping radio link, the same family of technology dedicated baby monitors have used for years. There is no app to secure, no account to reuse a password on, no cloud stream to wonder about — and equally no way to check the crib from grandma's house. Neither design is "safer" in the abstract: they're different threat models. Pick the one whose trade-offs you can live with at 3 a.m.
Where the Nanit wins: eyes from anywhere, plus the data
Out of the house and want to check whether the nap is happening? Only the Nanit does that. Buy the eufy SpaceView Pro if you want monitoring that depends on nothing: no app, no account, no cloud, no monthly anything. A real screen, two-way audio, pan/tilt, and a battery that goes days make it the set-and-forget nursery choice.
Tie-breaker: commute, travel, or co-caregivers in other houses → Nanit. Apartment life, privacy-first household, or gift-for-grandparents duty → eufy.
